Naval Aviation art prints of the Fleet Air Arm. The Fleet Air Arm started when a Royal Navy aircraft took off from a platform built for the purpose from the Battleship HMS HIBERNIA in Weymouth Bay in 1912 This was the first first time an aircraft had ever taken off from a battleship. The Royal Naval Air Service was officially recognised on July 1st 1914 by Winston Churchill the Fist Sea Lord of the Admiralty |
